Surreal Paris

Yesterday I was in Paris for a meeting in the afternoon. I took advantage of this trip to visit the Guimet museum of ancient Asian art with Dany in the morning. In it’s  beautiful modern interior (initiated in 1996 and recently completed) the 19th century museum near Trocadéro has a large but conveniently arranged collection on display.  An amazing overview of Khmer, Indian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, etc. art.
One surreal observation: away from the tourist highlights, Paris was dead calm. During August all Parisians seem to escape the city.
